Silver Firs is a competitive area, with homes selling on average after 15 days. A majority of homes are located above 156th Street. “This is a high-density area with a mix of buyers,” Spesock says. “There’s a mix of a single-family with large lots and condos and townhouses for starter homes.” Condos range from $460,000 for a two-bedroom to $950,000 for a newer development. Townhouses may vary from $500,000 to $650,000. Single families vary from ramblers, craftsmen and contemporary styles. Ramblers range from $560,000 to $1.25 million for properties with acreage. Craftsman and contemporary properties range from $700,000 to $1.4 million.

Lots of activity on Willis Tucker Park
Willis Tucker Community Park covers much recreation within its 84 acres. Children may start their studies at one of two elementary schools. Students north of 156th Street may attend Silver Firs Elementary, which earned an A from Niche. Other students may attend Forest View Elementary, which earned an A-minus grade. Grades six through eight can be done at Gateway Middle. The A-rated school provides over 15 clubs after school. Diplomas are earned from Henry M Jackson High, which also received an A. Students can enroll in nearly 30 AP classes.

The Mill Creek Town Center is a popular shopping hub located 4 miles away. “It’s a walkable area that has several different styles of restaurants,” Spesock says. “You can get groceries, Starbucks, hot yoga, and cupcakes for kids b-day. There are many things right in that area.” The shopping hub opened its doors in 2004 and since expanded to hold over 20 trendy restaurants and host several events.

Between I-5 and Highway 9
Residents will need a car to get around. Commuters to downtown Seattle can use (I-5) or Highway 9, where it’s a little over a 25-mile drive.
