Condos and ranch-style homes
This triangular-shaped community is on Milwaukee’s Northwest Side. Its winding streets are home to more than 3,500 people. Single-level condominiums and two-story townhouses are predominant in the western half of the community. On the eastern side, ranch-style and split-level homes sit well back from the street on spacious front yards. Single-family homes here have private driveways, and most have attached garages. “This is a growing neighborhood and would be a great place to raise a family. The ranch homes here are huge,” says Lyon-Halcomb. There are no sidewalks, but bicycle riders and walkers share the quiet roads with motorists. Single family homes in the community usually sell between $150,000 and $320,000.Playgrounds, parks and a bowling alley

Algonquin Park provides summer respite with a large inground wading pool. Down Bradley Road, Brown Deer Lanes invites families to enjoy a night out as grownups enjoy rotating drink specials while the kids bowl for free.Learning about urban farming

Later in July, nearby Menomonee Falls hosts the Annual Falls Lavender Fest, a celebration in tribute to the alluring lavender plant. Attendees can expect a day filled with art, jewelry and housewares, all extolling its aromatic delight. Food trucks and vendors will offer refreshments and treats. In October, locals grab their dirndls and lederhosen and head to Cathedral Square Park in Milwaukee to enjoy Oktoberfest. Attendees can sample German food and beer and partake in a stein-holding contest or a cornhole tournament.Transportation and travels
