"A little bit less hustle and bustle"
Clock Tower Acres is a harborside Milwaukee neighborhood less than 1 mile west of Lake Michigan and less than 2 miles south of downtown. “It’s one of those kinds of neighborhoods where you get all the benefits of being close to downtown Milwaukee, but it’s a little bit less hustle and bustle,” says Buyer and Listing Specialist Jason Stelling of Keller Williams Prestige. “It’s a tiny area, but it’s a happening area,” adds Realtor Alex Chou of Keller Williams Milwaukee. It’s home to about 1,200 residents and gets its name from the Allen-Bradley Clock Tower to the north. One of the world’s largest four-faced clocks, it’s stood since 1962 and is part of the current Rockwell Automation building. Locals can spot it from several points in the neighborhood, especially along Second Street. “A lot of people who work for Rockwell Automation live in the neighborhood,” Stelling says.

From early-1900s bungalows to rustic lofts
Many single-family homes and duplexes from the turn of the 20th century still stand in the neighborhood today. Most of these are simple, wood-framed, gable-front structures. However, facets of Craftsman design on certain facades add color and texture to the gridded, sidewalk-lined blocks. Simple bungalows also appear in the community, bearing small, covered porches and jerkinhead roofs in the Milwaukee tradition. In the southern section, Parts House Lofts features open-concept condominiums in a century-old historic building converted in 2001. These typically cost between $180,000 and $400,000, making them some of the neighborhood’s most expensive properties. Detached homes start below $60,000 for builds needing heavy facelifts; well-maintained houses peak at around $200,000. Homebuyers can also get both units of a duplex for $100,000 to $250,000.
