Two nearby parks offer pools, trails and year-round fun

Holler Park is a roughly 15-acre green space with activities for every season. In the summer, residents can cool off at the outdoor swimming pool and splash pad or join a pickup basketball game. The park also includes a sledding hill when the temperature drops. For larger gatherings, the Holler Park Lodge and picnic areas can be rented. Nearby, Copernicus Park covers 20 acres and features a gentle stream, a playground and a wooded hiking trail.

Easy freeway access and transit options for commuters

Mitchell West is crossed by the North-South Freeway, which carries both Interstates 94 and 43. That gives residents a direct route to downtown Milwaukee, less than 10 miles away, and easy access to the rest of the region through the nearby Mitchell Interchange. Several Milwaukee County Transit System bus routes serve the neighborhood, with stops along Layton and Edgerton avenues. Wisconsin Coach Lines' Airport Express also runs through the area, and Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is right next door. “You’re close to everything,” says Realtor Beth Jaworski of Shorewest Realtors. “People who have to go down to Chicago or Kenosha or Racine are right by the freeway. If you have to travel for work or you have to fly, you’re right by the airport.”
