Post-WWII suburbia
Founded after a significant influx of returning soldiers after World War II, Morgan Heights is a centrally located community on the south side of Milwaukee. With real estate that falls far below the national average, many are attracted to the neighborhood for starter homes or an appreciation for its unique architectural styles. ”People move here because the area is affordable, and it is bordered by major thoroughfares,’ says First Weber Realtor Margaret Harris, who lives nearby and has been selling homes in the area for ten years.

Unique home designs
A uniform grid of tree-lined streets cuts through the area’s gently rolling hills, while well-maintained midcentury homes sit on modest lots lined with sidewalks and concrete driveways. Popular home designs include American Foursquare, bungalows and Cape Cods, some featuring elegant stone facades. Most later construction includes Colonial Revivals and ranch-style homes. Smaller, older homes begin in the mid-$100,000 price range, typically maxing out in the mid-$200,000s. Homes with higher square footage or more modern construction tend to start in the mid-$200,000s, peaking in the mid-$400,000s.
