What people often pay for Craftsman-style bungalows and ramblers

The area is filled with Craftsman-style bungalows from the early to mid-1900s, as well as midcentury ramblers. These homes often range from the mid-$100,000s to the lower $300,000s. There are a few New Traditional homes built after 2015 that can run from the mid-$200,000s to the upper $400,000s. Duplexes and townhomes typically sell between the mid-$100,000s and the lower $300,000s. The neighborhood’s prices are roughly in line with the nearby Shingle Creek and Webber-Camden neighborhoods, but they tend to be slightly lower than in Victory.

The community feels suburban and has a convenient location

Lind-Bohanon is one of nine neighborhoods that make up the larger Camden area of Minneapolis. The community is mostly residential, but that does not mean there’s nothing to do nearby. “The beauty of it is, it’s connected to a couple of really vibrant areas in downtown [Minneapolis] and Brooklyn Center. … It’s also very close to northeast Minneapolis,” says Caleb Carlson, a real estate sales agent with Real Broker LLC. “It’s one of those suburbs where you live, and then you’re one area over from stuff to do.” The area’s quiet streets are wide and lined with trees whose leaves change color with the seasons. Front yards are usually grassy and can have a few small trees or bushes. Homes near Lyndale Avenue, which has several fast-food eateries and businesses, may experience more noise than the rest of the area.

The Lind-Bohanon Neighborhood Association is run by elected members of the community. The association works in partnership with the Center for Energy and Environment to provide home loans and downpayment assistance, as well as financial support for home repairs and safety improvements. [AS1.1]The association also provides youth programs for sports, music and academic support, and offers volunteer opportunities throughout the community. It also oversees a community garden and hosts seasonal events, like a fall festival and a winter solstice party.

Students are zoned for a highly rated district

The area falls under the Minneapolis Public School District, which is highly rated. Jenny Lind Elementary School is in the neighborhood. Students can also attend any school outside the district that has available space, thanks to Minnesota’s open-enrollment policy. Citywide magnet schools like Bethune Arts Elementary School use enrollment lotteries. Private schools like Immaculate Conception Catholic School, across the Mississippi River in Columbia Heights, are also an option.

Access to neighborhood parks and riverfront trails

The neighborhood’s location puts it near plenty of green space. “It’s off the Mississippi River, so there are some sweet regional trails,” Carlson says. “It’s an area that, if it’s nice out, [residents] like to be outside.” North Mississippi Regional Park has walking and biking paths, a fishing pier, a boat dock and a playground. It’s also home to the Carl W. Kroening Nature Center, which hosts [AS1.1]all-ages programming like birdwatching and art classes. Bohanon Park is home to a lighted ice rink and several sports fields, including lighted baseball and softball diamonds. It also has a pirate ship-themed playground.

Across the river, Columbia Park ’s Columbia Golf Club has public tee times, and visitors to the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District can walk through art studios like the Northrup King Building. The district hosts the Art-a-Whirl celebration each spring, combining gallery tours with food and live music.

Metro Transit buses can get riders downtown in 25-45 minutes, depending on the line. Lind-Bohanon residents have easy access to Interstate 94, which can lead east to Saint Paul or west to the rest of Minnesota.
