Glen Lake’s suburban living and access to parks and commerce
About 2 miles south of central Minnetonka, Glen Lake’s residential streets are interspersed with parks surrounding the area’s namesake water source. The expansive neighborhood has a wide selection of homes and easy access to major roads and quality schools. “Minnetonka is a big suburb, and Glen Lake is one of its pockets. It’s an older, established area, so there are bigger lots and bigger homes with mature trees,” says Laura Scott, a real estate agent with Re/Max Advantage Plus, who has over 20 years of experience and lives in the neighborhood. While essentials can be found in commercial centers throughout the area, downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America are only 20 to 30 minutes away.
The Glen Lake area features ranch-style homes built between the 1950s and 1970s priced from $350,000 to $550,000, with many properties sitting on generous half-acre lots.
Glen Lake features raised ranch homes built on hills alongside traditional ranch designs, all surrounded by tall, thick trees that provide natural privacy and scenic beauty.

A mixed bag of residential homes and condos
Homes in Glen Lake are lined along wide streets and cul-de-sacs. Most properties have a large front lawn and are surrounded by tall, thick trees. “I have a half-acre lot, and that’s not uncommon for the area, to have a large lot,” Scott says. Ranch-style homes built between the 1950s and 1970s are common, alongside raised ranches built on a hill. These properties cost around $350,000 to $550,000. Bi-level homes and split levels are another housing type. Most have a traditional design, with a simple exterior made from brick or vinyl. Prices range between $500,000 and $875,000, depending on property size. New construction bi-level homes with a Craftsman influence are rare but can get up to $1.8 million. A handful of multi-story homes in the neighborhood go for $800,000 to $1.3 million.
Contemporary townhouses and condos built in the 1980s are found closer to the highways and cost around $250,000 to $330,000. For additional living options, there are a handful of apartment complexes, including Glen Lake Landing and Oaks Glen Lake. “From a housing supply standpoint, it’s a neighborhood that people don’t leave. It’s desirable, but not a lot comes up on the market,” Scott says.

Glen Lake Station Park mimics a town square, with a grassy field and picnic benches facing a water feature used as a splash pad in the warmer months. The Glen Lake Golf & Practice Center is a public 9-hole course directly south of the neighborhood.
About 4 miles southeast of Glen Lake is Bryant Lake Regional Park. Hiking and biking trails cut through the area’s rolling hills, woodlands and wetlands. “We’re a big biking community. You could easily bike from Glen Lake all the way to Minneapolis,” Scott says. A sandy beach along Bryant Lake allows swimming, fishing and non-motorized boating. The park also has an off-leash dog area and an 18-hole disc golf course.
