Monarch Lakes was developed between the 1990s and early 2000s with a variety of Spanish Revivals. The earthy home style is known for having stucco siding, arches and barrel roof tiles. Prices start with townhouses, ranging from the mid $300,000s to the mid $500,000s. Three- to four-bedroom single-family properties range from around the high $500,000s to the high $900,000s. Prices for five-bedroom houses typically fall between $700,000 and $1.2 million. Most of Monarch Lakes is within a special flood hazard area, so homebuyers will require flood insurance for a federally backed mortgage. Miramar Parkway runs along the neighborhood's south side, lined with various shopping centers, including the Shoppes at Monarch Lakes. The center has banks, a Publix, a Dollar Tree and other conveniences. It’s also home to Blue Ginger Seafood Steakhouse, a popular Japanese hibachi restaurant with a sushi bar. Monarch Town Center and Miramar Square are across the parkway from each other, offering even more day-to-day shopping and dining options like Sprouts Farmers Market, Cold Stone, Ross and more. As for retail therapy, Pembroke Pines Mall, featuring more than 150 shops and restaurants, is less than 5 miles up Flamingo Road.
