The Villages of Renaissance
Condos and Mediterranean-style homes for a good value
The subdivision contains luxury condominiums and single-family homes. The houses are one- and two-story properties, with Mediterranean features such as terra cotta roofs, arched entryways, and, in some cases, vibrant citrus colors. According to Melo Cannobbio, the area offers competitive pricing, with houses ranging from $600,000 to about $700,000 and condos ranging from $250,000 to $350,000. "It's excellent value for the money, which is increasingly hard to find in Broward County," he says. Front yards include trimmed lawns and manicured landscaping. Controlled gate access and nighttime lighting add to the sense of safety, according to Melo Cannobbio.Residents brace for hurricanes from early June through late November. Based on FEMA flood zone mapping, flood insurance may be required.
Community features bring neighbors together
The shared amenities help promote fitness and community. The pool features a spacious deck area with lounge chairs and a shaded pavilion. It's next to the tennis courts and basketball court. "They're extremely popular," Melo Cannobbio says. "You'll see neighbors spending time together at the pool or playing friendly matches on the courts." Miramar Regional Park is another hub for recreation and community, with sports fields and courts, a dog park, a skate park and trails. At 173 acres, it's large enough to host the city's well-attended festivals.Academic pathways at Broward County Schools
Kids typically follow one pipeline from kindergarten through 12th grade, beginning with Coconut Palm Elementary School, which earns a B grade from Niche. New Renaissance Middle School earns a C. Everglades High School stands out for its A-minus rating, offering academic pathways in engineering, cybersecurity and health sciences and an FBI Youth Academy. The Broward County Library Miramar Branch is a nearby study space with programs such as book clubs and puzzle swaps.Shops, restaurants and performances at Miramar Town Center
Just across Miramar Boulevard is Miramar Town Center, the city hub for shops, restaurants and cultural spaces. Salons, sports bars, and patio restaurants occupy the multi-purpose buildings. Many take advantage of the Florida weather with outdoor seating. El Churrascaso Grill focuses on seafood and steak, serving cuts such as picanha and filet mignon with flavorful sauces. The Miramar Cultural Center brings song, dance, literature and theater from across the globe. Grocery stores surround the neighborhood including Aldi, Bravo Supermarket, Publix and Trader Joe's — all less than 3 miles away.Miramar celebrates diversity wtith multicultural festivals
Miramar is a hub for multicultural tourism. The Latin Music Festival is the highlight of the city's Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations. Over 10,000 attendees show up in September for big names in reggaeton, merengue and salsa music. The Afro-Carib Festival celebrates Black History Month and Reggae Month in February with live performances from various genres.Locals rely on cars
Sidewalks weave through the neighborhood, connecting to the shared spaces. Driving may be the easiest way to get out of the neighborhood as a barrier wall slows down pedestrian traffic. Red Road and Hiatus Road both load toward the Town Center. Broward County Transit buses stop here every 40 minutes and lead throughout the county. Miramar is situated between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and the nearest Florida Turnpike entrance is about 3 miles away.
