A small community 10 miles from Downtown Mobile
Autumndale is mostly undeveloped woodlands and industrial buildings, but a few cul-de-sac communities border its south and west sides. The neighborhood sits on the edge of Mobile’s city limits, less than 10 miles north of the downtown shops and restaurants. A Piggly Wiggly store is right down the road, and it’s only a half-mile walk to the Three Mile Creek Greenway, which links to Langan Park.

Autumndale’s housing selection is relatively small, with fewer than 250 homes total and only four properties sold in 2024. The few homes here sit in small cul-de-sac communities on the neighborhood’s south and west borders. Mattie T. Blount High has four career academies
Autumndale students are zoned for Mobile County Public Schools. They can start preschool at Forest Hill Elementary and move to CL Scarborough Middle in sixth grade. Most students graduate from Mattie T. Blount High, which operates four career academies specializing in business, hospitality and the health sciences. All three schools receive a C-minus from Niche.

Autumndale sits on the north edge of Mobile’s city limits, immediately west of Interstate 65. U.S. Route 98 intersects with I-65 just outside the neighborhood and links to the City of Semmes in about 10 miles. From the interstate, Springhill Medical Center is fewer than 5 miles south. The exit for Interstate 10 is just another 2 miles down the road. In 2025, Mobile plans to open its first international airport right off I-10.

Buy live crawfish across the street at Ranch Seafood
There’s a Piggly Wiggly down the road, and Ranch Seafood sells live crawfish right across the street. Folks head to Margaritas Mexican Restaurant for karaoke on Friday nights. The closest commercial corridor is about 2 miles away on Spring Hill Avenue. Greer’s CashSaver sells discount groceries at Crichton Shopping Center, which also has a Family Dollar and a few other convenient businesses. Mary’s Southern Cooking is a casual, cafeteria-style restaurant serving home-cooked soul food across the street. It’s only a block west of two longtime local hot spots, Love’s Seafood and Hart’s Fried Chicken. From here, Mobile’s main retail center on Airport Boulevard is just over 3 miles away.
