Culture and nature are a short walk from Bellewood
The cozy cottages and stylish ranchers of Bellewood evoke a storybook village. Tucked beside woodlands near the University of South Alabama and Langan Park, the neighborhood is a launchpad for digging into local culture and nature. It’s easy to stroll past native pines on the Glen Sebastian Trail, take an Ikebana flower-arranging class at the Charles Wood Japanese Garden or attend an evening art talk at the Mobile Museum of Art. “Most of the homes there are ranch-style homes or little cottage bungalow types,” says Steve Hickman, Realtor with Keller-Williams Mobile and a longtime Mobile local. “Most are built on slabs in the ‘60s or 70s, probably late 50s.” The neighborhood is also referred to as Alpine Hills or Forest Hill.
Bellewood has some beautiful treelined streets with older well established homes.
