Quiet community on the edge of West Mobile
On the edge of West Mobile's ever-expanding suburbia, Dawes offers quiet residences close to parks and major shopping areas. "West Mobile is one of the fastest growing areas in the county," says Realtor Brooks Beck with Beck Properties. Beck is a former business owner who started selling real estate with his wife, Hon Beck, in 2021. "You have that country feel, but there's so much growing around it that you don't feel isolated. The homes are desirable, and buyers get a lot for their money." Many people who move to this area of West Mobile tend to stay, as shown by the multi-generational feel of the community and the few homes for sale, which tend to sell within three weeks. "I've lived in the area for 12 years, and I don't see myself ever moving—the area has so much to offer," Beck says.

Dawes offers various architectural styles on spacious lots, which are often shaded with tall pines, oaks and magnolia trees. Many backyards extend into secluded woods instead of a neighbor's backyard. Homes here are desirable, as Beck mentions, and with the area's growth and popularity, prices are higher here than in neighborhoods closer to downtown Mobile. Ranch-style houses and bungalows typically list between $160,000 and $460,000. Large New Traditional homes sitting on two to five acres range between $535,000 and $750,000.
