Well-manicured subdivisions in growing West Mobile
In Di Grado, desirable subdivisions blend with West Mobile's quiet, rural feel. The community, which sits just 17 miles from downtown, is part of the city's push toward expansion in the western reaches of Mobile County. "Mobile is growing westward, especially since the city annexed this part of the county a few years back," says Realtor Brooks Beck with Beck Properties. Beck started the company with his wife, Hon Beck, in 2021. "I've lived in this area for 12 years and don't foresee myself moving. I love that it's close to the city but far enough to have a rural feel. Even with how much it's growing, you get so much bang for your buck." In addition to the area's growth, Di Grado is zoned for some of Mobile County's highest-rated schools and is a short drive from a retail and dining hotspot on Schillinger Road.

The streets often have well-paved sidewalks for morning jogs and evening strolls. "The area is diversified as far as price point. Many homes fall within the county's median price range of $250,000, but some homes go up to $550,000, even over $1 million," Beck says. The community primarily consists of subdivisions with New Traditional and Contemporary Craftsman homes costing between $400,000 and $645,000. Mixed in between the subdivisions are modest ranch-style homes costing between $280,000 and $325,000. Isle of Palms is the neighborhood's luxury, gated community, where homes typically list between $870,000 and $1 million. Still, some of Isle of Palms' largest homes have listed as high as $3.5 million.
