On nearby North University Boulevard, the Walmart has an attached pharmacy for convenience. Municipal Park is a short drive from Forest Highland and offers many recreational opportunities, including a walking loop, an 18-hole disc golf course and a playground and visitors can also launch a kayak or fish on Spring Hill Lake. Forest Highland children may attend Mobile County Public Schools, beginning at Orchard Elementary, which earns a C-plus rating on Niche. Students may then move on to Semmes Middle School, which has a C rating. Blount High gets a C-minus but Niche rates Blount as being in the top 10 percent of all high schools for athletics, and it has garnered five football state championships. The school also has career-focused academies for students who want to have a career in construction, allied health or business management.
