Newcomers will find simple cottages and their Creole counterparts can be found with contemporary designs, waterfront estate homes, farmhouses and modest ranch-style houses. Most homes were built in the 1980s, ranging from $50,000 for simple single-family homes to $675,000 for larger estates. Spacious lots are also a big draw here, with the median size averaging 27,000 square feet, but many span over 3 acres. Riverside homes boast inviting, covered front porches, well-kept, lush lawns, detached expansive garages and driveways perfect for parking boats or other toys. Yards filled with palms and mature trees offer plenty of shade and add to the neighborhood’s Southern charm and appeal.Endless fun on the water
