A rural retreat near downtown and the bay

Just a short drive from the stunning Mobile Bay, a bustling aviation industrial complex and the vibrant Downtown Mobile scene, Riviera treats residents to a peaceful, laid-back country lifestyle while still close to all the action.

Southern charm abounds with Creole cottages and cute ranchers

Riviera offers modest and charming single-family, ranch-style homes, Creole cottages and bungalows. Most homes were built in the 1980s, ranging from $30,000 to $150,000. Lot sizes are fairly spacious, with the median ranging approximately 9,500 square feet and spanning up to 1 acre. Most yards are fenced in, well-kept and provide spacious driveways for boats, RVs or other toys. Many homes have inviting, screened-in porches and quaint patios and are surrounded by towering trees – adding to the neighborhood's rural, southern charm.

Riding around Riviera

Riviera’s proximity to Interstate 10 gets residents to Downtown Mobile in 5 miles, all the outdoor recreation Mobile Bay has to offer in 2 miles and Mobile International Airport. One of the area’s biggest employers, the airport is part of the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, the area’s only aviation multi-use industrial complex, which houses fellow aircraft manufacturer Airbus, another top employer, along with the Academy of Craft Training for high school students and historical markers that tell the tale of Alabama’s aviation history. And with Dauphin Island Parkway along the neighborhood’s eastern boundary, shopping, dining and necessities are all a short drive away.

Make your mark at Mobile County Schools

Served by the Mobile County Schools System, local students attend Maryvale Elementary School, Pillans Middle School and Williamson High School. Both the elementary and middle schools received a C-minus from Niche. Maryvale provides an Engaging Youth in Engineering club, cheerleading and student council. Also earning a C-minus from Niche, Williamson High offers robotics and photography clubs, cross-country and football teams and an Engineering Academy. For continuing higher education, Bishop State Community College’s Southwest Campus is just 5 miles away and offers programs that range from Aviation Manufacturing Technology to Cosmetology.
