Moline’s Walton Hills is a suburban community where residents can lead a quiet lifestyle while still being close to all the city has to offer. It's located right off John Deere Road, less than a half-mile from John Deere’s world headquarters and Black Hawk College, a local community college with nearly 4,000 students. It’s also a quick trip to local shopping destinations, big box stores, home improvement stores and restaurants. “It’s not rural, but there are a lot of big, mature trees here, and big, spacious houses,” says Realtor Kathy Meyer, who grew up in Moline and has worked as a realtor there for over a decade. "It's right at the edge of the city, just west of East Moline."
Small subdivisions with contemporary homes
Walton Hills is made up of several residential subdivisions, including its namesake Walton Hills and Greenwood Point, as well as the Pheasant Ridge apartment complex. The neighborhood's winding streets and quiet cul-de-sacs are lined with large, contemporary homes built in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. These homes come in a variety of floorplans with attached garages and manicured yards. Greenwood Pointe also includes offers condos for those looking for something with less upkeep. Lot sizes usually clock in at around a quarter-acre, so residents will have plenty of room for gardening, landscaping or setting up holiday decorations.
