Ice-cold scoops in the Quad Cities
La Rancherita 2 is a convenient spot to grab a bite to eat. The restaurant serves Mexican food and is located in a Tudor-Revival-inspired building on the Avenue of the Cities. Kelly says that summertime brings the community out to the ice cream shop across the street. "Whitey's Ice Cream and Country Style are both popular ice cream shops, and over the summer, that corner is really popular," Kelly says. Whitey's frosty-white exterior implies ice-cold scoops inside, served by associates in printer's hats and red aprons. Country Style leans into its name, with murals and signage of farmers in straw hats holding ice cream cones. Both are popular with locals and provide a diversity of choices to residents seeking a sweet treat. Residents have options for entertainment in Downtown Moline, which is less than three miles away, thanks to the Vibrant Arena at the Mark. This 12,000-seat venue draws national acts.
