Creekside is a small neighborhood about 4 miles from March Air Reserve Base, a major local employer. “Moreno Valley is home to longtime residents and newcomers, including a large military and veteran community,” says Ulises Cabrera, Mayor of Moreno Valley since 2022. The area is also convenient for its proximity to shopping centers, highways and parks.

Bustling shopping corridors and local restaurants

There are a growing number of places to shop and eat in and around Creekside. Cabrera says the increase in local businesses is do tothe city's growth and comitmemnt to improving infrastructure. Alux Cocina and Mixologia opened in 2024 and served food inspired by Tulum, with live mariachi music. Mariscos El Zorrillo is the local favorite for fresh seafood. Alessandro Plaza, just south of the neighborhood, has businesses, gyms and local restaurants, while Moreno Valley Commerce Center has law offices and a few auto shops. Phil-Am Enterprises, Food 4 Less and El Super are nearby for groceries. Canyon Crossings is about 3 miles away and has Target and other national chains.

Mediterranean homes near an elementary school

Homes in Creekside typically have palms lining the front yards, many enclosed by fences and with in-ground pools. Streets are wide, with multi-car garages and sidewalks. The neighborhood has two-story and single-story Mediterranean-style homes built in the 1980s and 1990s. Many have been renovated, with most homes under 1,600 square feet. Prices range from $405,000 to $550,000, below the city’s median of $558,880. “Housing prices are one of the main draws to Moreno Valley,” Cabrera says. “Though many people have moved out of California, this area is still growing thanks to affordable housing options.”

Skate parks, soccer fields and a public golf course

Moreno Valley Community Park is located next to Moreno Valley High School and often stays busy with sports leauges. The park has four soccer fields and a skatepark. “The median age in this area is about 30 to 35, with many young families,” Cabrera says. He mentions the city’s recent upgrades to recreation, including the Flight Deck Bike Park. “We’re building the largest pump track in Southern California. It will be a great place for locals and visitors.” Nearby, the Cottonwood Golf Center has a public 9-hole course with discounted rates for locals and a youth golf program.

Cultural events and the farmers market on Thursdays

Creekside is about 2 miles from the Moreno Valley Civic Center Amphitheater, hosting many of the city’s events. “While approximately 60% of our population is Latino, Moreno Valley is home to a variety of cultures, including Filipino and Bangladeshi communities,” Cabrera says. He points out that this diversity is celebrated in events like the Multicultural and Arts Festival every March. The Riverside University Health System Medical Center, about 5 miles away, serves as the area’s leading medical hub and hosts the Certified Farmers Market on Thursdays.

Convenient freeway access for commuting to Riverside

The neighborhood is around 2 miles from Route 60 and Interstate 215, which locals call the 60 and 215. Riverside is about a 12-mile drive from these highways. While many residents drive, Riverside Transit operates bus stops along the neighborhood’s edges. Creekside is about 5 miles from March Air Reserve Base and approximately 18 miles from San Bernardino International Airport.

B-rated school district offers Career and Technical Education

The Moreno Valley Unified School District, which has a B-minus rating on N Niche, offers Dual Language Immersion programs in English and Spanish to help students become proficient in both languages. Creekside Elementary has a C grade and Sunnymead Middle School has a C-minus rating. The elementary school is next to the district’s Community Wellness Center, offering programs for underserved students/ Moreno Valley High School has a B-minus rating and offers Career Technical Education programs in welding, business management and graphic design.
