Sunnymead Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in the city, runs through the neighborhood. Many shopping plazas, hotels, businesses and restaurants are along the road, including the popular diners Black Bear and Brandon’s. The area also abuts several big retail plazas, such as Rio Rancho Super Mall and Sunnymead Towne Center, both of which have grocery stores and dozens of eateries. Perris Boulevard is another busy road on the east side of the neighborhood, home to more businesses, shopping plazas and the popular Mexican restaurant Taqueria 2 Potrillos. There's a Food 4 Less grocery on the southern end of the neighborhood. Served by the Metrolink commuter rail, Moreno Valley/March Field Station is about 7 miles west, and Riverside Transit Agency has bus stops throughout the city. “We just have a lot of recreational space,” Nol says. “There are about 30 parks all around and within the city.” Canyon Springs Little League practices and plays at Sunnymead Park, which has three softball fields on the northern side of the neighborhood. Located right by the community’s grocery store, Bayside Park has a sandbox playground, a basketball court and a walking path. The city is home to the 8,800-acre Lake Perris State Recreation Area, which offers splendid trails and natural space for hiking and camping.
