TownGate Memorial Park connects to the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail. This path starts at the park and ends at the 8,000-acre Lake Perris State Recreation Area, home to the Ya’i Heki’ Regional Indian Museum. Soon Moreno Valley will get a space that preserves its history. TownGate Crossing and Canyon Crossings are the main shopping hubs, with major retailers like Target, Walmart and Costco. “These areas are our central shopping spots for something good to eat,” Cabrera says. “We are also excited about our developing town center and creating more amenities for our residents.” Dining options include coffee shops, Chinese takeout, authentic Mexican spots and regional chains like Country Kitchen and Polly’s Pies. HOGGS Gourmet Grill has been a family-owned staple since 2007, serving burgers and barbecues in a backyard-style setting. Towngate Elementary School has a C-plus rating and hosts Friday Night Live, a statewide initiative promoting healthy lifestyles.
