The grid-organized properties generally sit on square grass lots lined with tall trees. “Right now, starter homes are going between $250,000 to $300,000. Property values have appreciated in Morrow, and some homes have almost doubled in value. The market moves based on property, but some go in the first weekend,” says Realtor Phi Nguyen, who sells homes in the area with the Phong Duong Group. Homebuyers can find cottage-style condo units built in the 1970s for between $120,000 and $170,000. New Traditional townhouses built in the early 2000s sell for around $220,000. Ranch-style houses with brick facades and split levels from the 1960s and 70s cost between $220,000 and $330,000. New Traditional single-family homes built in the last 10 years are priced around $470,000.

Community festivals at The District

The City of Morrow hosts seasonal events at The District, a gathering space located by Southlake Mall. The city’s Juneteenth celebration has live music, fireworks and inflatable slides for kids. Residents mingle at night markets with international food and live music and bring their kids to trick-or-treat in Halloween costumes in October. In December, there’s Christmas in the Park, which has holiday lights and visits from Santa. At Clayton State University, residents can listen to world-renowned classical and jazz musicians at Spivey Hall.

There are groceries and daily essentials at Publix and Walmart, as well as produce and international goods at Nam Dae Mun Farmers Market, a Korean grocery store chain. While Morrow is not far from the major restaurant and shopping hub of Atlanta, residents can access a convenient collection of major retailers at the Southlake Mall, including Claire's, Foot Locker and Macy's. Mingle with neighbors and pets at the City of Morrow Dog Park

Clayton County manages community parks throughout the neighborhood. Morrow-Lake City Park has a playground and athletic fields for youth and adult recreation leagues. The Morrow Dog Park has a large fenced-in area for pets to run around and benches for their owners to relax and converse. Next to the dog park is the Community Garden of Morrow, which encourages residents to grow produce in garden plots. Open learning spaces at the new Morrow High

Kids can begin school at Morrow Elementary, which has a 13-to-1 student-teacher ratio and a B-minus rating from Niche. Students advance to C-rated Morrow Middle and finish at C-rated Morrow High. The high school opened in 2022 and features a modern three-story classroom design with a sky bridge connecting the school’s athletic facilities. The school features common spaces for hands-on instruction and new basketball and volleyball courts. Morrow also hosts a post-secondary education option; Clayton State University is in the northern portion of the neighborhood. The university has around 6,900 students.

Interstate 75 offers convenient access to Atlanta

“Many people live there and work in Atlanta, and the access to I-75 makes it easy to navigate around the metro area,” Nguyen says. Morrow is predominantly suburban, so residents depend on personal vehicles to run errands and commute to work. Bus route 193 on the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, or MARTA, takes Morrow residents from Jonesboro Road to East Point Station, where they can connect to the MARTA rail line to Atlanta. Residents travel 13 miles southeast to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for bigger trips.
