Featured on Top Chef, the winery gained recognition for its high-elevation sparkling wines, which patrons can sip on a grassy meadow overlooking rows of vines. For groceries, locals head to McIsaac’s Store in Parkdale or the Mid Valley Market in Odell, though there are more options in nearby Hood River.

Cape Cods and Craftsman homes built as early as the 1930s and as recently as the 2010s usually come on more than one acre, with some orchard lots spread across 20 acres. Ranch-style homes built between 1980 and 2010 on one- to five-acre lots can sell for $300,000 to $425,000. “[Buyers] really like that they can have acreage out there,” Dillard says. “A lot of properties have really amazing views of the mountain. Dee Highway, also known as Oregon state Route 281, runs alongside the neighborhood, connecting the community to several others. The highway leads north to Dee and Odell—eventually ending in Hood River—as well as Parkdale in the south. There, it connects to Oregon state Route 235, a faster, more direct route to the city of Hood River. Alternatively, residents can take Old Parkdale Road to reach Parkdale, its restaurants and grocery store. Columbia Area Transit services the region, though residents would have to catch the bus in either Parkdale or Odell to ride it to Hood River.
