While Brownsville Road runs along the western edge of Mt. Oliver Borough, it’s the heart of the community’s economic revitalization. The borough is part of the Allegheny Together Program, which aims to redevelop traditional commercial corridors like the Brownsville Road Business District. Most homes were built from the late 19th century through the mid-1900s. American Foursquares, Dutch Colonial Revivals and Victorian-style homes sit side-by-side on narrow lots with fenced-in backyards.
