Natural surroundings, but also notable amenities
Green Acres rose up in the 1950s, as growth spread outwards from downtown Naperville, a little over a mile north. But the neighborhood has retained its green atmosphere, with nearly half of its territory devoted to public parks. It does have the traditional suburban hallmarks, like highly ranked schools. The neighborhood’s residential portions are a bit unique, though: multistory homes sit on half acre lots that are often wooded, preserving a sprawling naturalistic feel contained in the name of Green Acres. Access to a lifestyle that’s a little off the beaten path, yet not totally removed from modern amenities like Edward Hospital, is what appeals to homebuyers. Local realtors will even mention how residents can walk to downtown. "Naperville can easily be characterized as a laid-back, fun and family-friendly community," says Lori Johanneson, real estate broker with @properties. "People genuinely love living here, thanks to its many incredible offerings."
Green Acres is located only 2-miles from Downtown Naperville.

Sprawling estates are commonly seen
While there is a certain lushness that’s almost rural in the streetscapes of Green Acres, housing styles lean towards the luxurious. True, it’s possible to find a two-bedroom midcentury home for around $400,000 – but that’s not the norm. Home sale prices in Green Acres typically range from $1.2 million to $3.2 million. At the early end of that range homebuyers can find three-bed, three-bath modern farmhouses. In the middle, homebuyers can expect to see properties like a five-bed, eight-bath McKeown Built Luxury Home with a four-car garage sitting on a spacious lot. At the upper reaches of the market are French Provincial estates, which can come in the form of a six-bed, eight-bath property offering over 7,600 square feet of living space. It’s not uncommon for some of these homes to have a coach house or guest residence that connects to the main house.
Many new Farmhouse-style homes can be found throughout Green Acres.
