Planting roots in High Meadow
The 609 well-manicured homes that make up High Meadow are set against the banks of the DuPage River to the east and a convenient Naperville thoroughfare to the west. “It's a wildly popular neighborhood,” says Terri Christian, broker at Christie's International Real Estate with @properties and Naperville resident of over three decades. “And because it’s all right there on Route 59, the community has all the same access to the highway and stores just across the road.” A community-focused homeowners association, direct access to Metra by car or bus, and a very low CAP Index crime score of 1/10 make for a prestigious reputation. When homes rarely come onto the market, they often have multiple offers at the outset and sell quickly as homeowner hopefuls compete to plant roots in this convenient community.
Route 59 is a major road that provides access for those living near the High Meadows area.
Naperville is renowned for its exceptional schools, and High Meadow is no exception.

Securing one of 609 properties
The High Meadow Homeowners Association is an active visual influence within the community, keeping perimeter landscaping pristine to match the tidy yards and sidewalks throughout. Brick Georgian and colonial-style homes, spacious Cape Cods and New Traditional models line these streets. Each include unique accents—from tall porticos lifted by ionic columns to arched Paladin windows on the second floor—yet they stick to similar style guidelines inside and out. In-ground sprinkler systems keep lawns vibrant, two-story foyers open the main space, and two-to-three car garages provide plenty of room for multiple vehicles. Properties enter the market rarely and leave soon after being put up for sale, most staying within the price range of $540,000 to $800,000.

Walking to Graham Elementary School
In keeping with Naperville’s penchant for walkable grade schools, some homes in High Meadow are literally within eyeshot of Graham Elementary School. The school is just over a mile from the furthest home in the community—which explains the lack of bus transportation for neighbourhood kids. “But within High Meadow, two subdivisions go to the school,” says Christian. “The ones on the other side of the busy road are bussed over.” Students join their classmates from River Run, a nearby subdivision across Hassert Boulevard. Niche rates Graham an A-plus and designates the school as the best elementary option in Will County. After graduating fifth grade, kids bus to Crone Middle School and Neuqua Valley High School, which earn an A and an A-plus, respectively.

From High Meadow Park to Whalon Lake
Like most south Naperville subdivisions, High Meadow is home to a namesake park. This large open space is a popular place to walk, especially for dog owners. Homeowners can enter the top portion of Riverview Farmstead Preserve from the neighborhood to enjoy the DuPage River greenway or bike along the DuPage River Trail. Whalon Lake, another hotspot for nature lovers, is 8 miles from High Meadow up the DuPage. Kayaks are available for rent and there are opportunities to fish, explore wetland trails and socialize dogs at the 12-acre designated play zone.

Heading to downtown Naperville or shopping right on Route 59
The downtown sector is a hotspot for food and good company for any Naperville local, as well as nearby cities like Plainfield and Bolingbrook. High Meadow residents are particularly well-placed since Route 59 runs north to south along the community’s western edge. Naperville Marketplace—just one of several shopping centers on this road—is the closest to High Meadow, with Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Market providing day-to-day essentials alongside big-box stores like TJ Maxx and chain eateries like Dunkin’. Well-balanced breakfasts and brunches await at EggCited, a casual spot where the eggs are sourced fresh from Wisconsin farms. Kababish Indian Kitchen plates hearty servings of Kabab and other Mughlai favorites, and Area 51 Cupcakery has birthdays and other special events covered with award-winning custom cakes. AMC Naperville 16, Amazon Fresh and many other restaurants are a short 3 mile drive up Route 59.

Getting around Naperville and beyond
BNSF Line Metra trains take riders to Chicago from the Route 59 station, which is less than 8 miles away by car for High Meadows residents. “Like Clow Creek, people here also have access to PACE buses to the Metra station,” Christian says. The buses depart for the station from High Meadow Rd & Route 59 and make return trips in the evening, six days a week. Those who would prefer to drive the 38 miles to work in the Windy City each morning usually take Interstate 88, which is about a 25 minute drive away on its own. Since Chicago Midway International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport are both about 33 miles away from High Meadow, residents can take their pick for longer trips. Work and play could be much closer, however—downtown Bolingbrook is just 8 miles east of the neighborhood, and Plainfield is about 4 miles to the south.
Public transportation options are abundant in High Meadow.
High Meadow residents can use the Route 59th Metra trains to travel to downtown Chicago.
