Outstanding public schools in Naperville, Illinois
"One of the reasons Naperville is such a sought-after spot to relocate is its outstanding public schools," says Lori Johanneson, broker with @properties Naperville. "From pre-kindergarten through high school, children can attend award-winning schools just minutes from home.” Watts students can begin at May Watts Elementary School, which is graded an A on Niche. They may then attend Thayer J. Hill Middle School for grades six through eight, which also earns an A. Metea Valley High School, 5 miles away, earns an A-plus on Niche and offers dozens of programs for its students through its “Mustang Elective Trails.” These elective offerings allow students to follow their interests in categories such as art and communication or finance and business. Students can join clubs and organizations, including the Business Professionals of America, drama club and Scholastic Bowl.

Lake Osborne, Buttonwood and May Watts Park
“Families love living in Naperville because of its abundance of parks and playgrounds nearby,” Johanneson says. May Watts Park, named for the famous naturalist and writer, is just outside the elementary school and has a playground and pond with a walkable trail surrounding it. May Watts Park also has a good-sized hill that is popular for sledding in the winter. Buttonwood Park is a small green space with a playground and is known to be a good spot for dog walking. Lake Osborne Park features a lovely pavilion and a walking trail that follows Lake Osborne’s shore. However, the trail does not go entirely around the lake due to sharing space with the Naperville Police and Fire Department buildings.
