Cooling off at Frontier Park
Wood Lake’s backyard residential lakes allow for backyard picnics with sightings of ducks that peruse its edge. Centrally located, Cantore Park is within walking distance of every home, allowing for quick trips to watch Naperville Youth Soccer games or join in on pick-up football games. Less than a mile south are the sports complexes at Frontier Park, where locals go to practice ollies at the skate park and get some exercise along its walking trails. “It has a ton of restaurants; even the smaller ones are great, says Joanna Pamal, Assistant Director at Childtime of Naperville, which is located in the community. “There are just so many things you can walk around and see in general.” Many of these spots sit along State Route 59 toward the west and are just over a mile walk for residents on the farthest away. This includes family-owned Paris Bistro, where dinner features classic French wine and the choice of a sweet or savory crepe alongside other bistro-style dishes. The area also has several popular chains such as Five Guys, Houlihan’s and McAlister’s Deli for a quick bite. Groceries are picked up at Jewel-Osco nearby, while retailers like a Walmart Supercenter, Old Navy and more can be shopped at Springbrook Prairie Pavilion, just 3 miles north.
