Gated community with natural preserves and lakes
In the gated Naples' community of Briarwood, single-family homes and condominiums spread across 240 acres dotted with nature preserves, lakes and palm trees. Heated swimming pools and tennis and pickleball courts are just a few of the many community amenities included with homeownership. Briarwood's flexible rental policy also makes it popular with seasonal residents and investors. "The family-friendly atmosphere, safe environment and active community make it ideal for families, retirees and seasonal residents," says Sandra Carano, a local Realtor with Premiere Plus Realty. "Plus, its prime location is just minutes from downtown Naples, Fifth Avenue South and the Gulf beaches."

Upscale Spanish Revival homes and condos
Briarwood is made up primarily of single-family homes but it also features condos, some of which come with attached garages. Spanish Revival architecture, with its tiled roofs and stucco exteriors, is a typical housing style. Well-manicured lawns are common in the front, as are screened-in swimming pools in the back, and many houses feature scenic lake views. Most single-family homes range from $700,000 to $1 million, while condos are in the $300,000 to $400,000 range. Estate homes line the Golden Gate Canal in the Bella Lago section of the community, where properties are in the $1 million to $1.7 million range. Briarwood offers homeowners the flexibility to rent out homes on a weekly basis, up to 52 times per year, depending on the property. "The key is that a lot of people who buy in there are not there year-round, so it can be a good investment property," says Jane Wood, a local sales associate with John R. Wood Properties. "Being a gated community, you can still feel very secure if you're not there all the time."
