Resort-style amenities and golfing near the Gulf Coast
Overlooking golf greens and water features, homes in the Cedar Hammock Golf and Country Club offer resort-style living in Southwest Florida. Property owners in this gated community in Collier County enjoy private recreational amenities – most notably, the 18-hole golf course weaving throughout the grounds. Plus, Cedar Hammock is just 7 miles from downtown Naples and the sandy white beaches of the Gulf Coast, making it a favored spot for retirees and vacationers. “Naples is largely a second-home market, and once people reach retirement age, it often becomes their primary, residence” says Marlene Graham, Owner/Realtor at Tropics Real Estate LLC in Naples. “Cedar Hammock is a mix of all ages, and particularly appealing to golf enthusiasts looking forward to their future [retirement]." She explains that, as a bundled golf community, all property owners are automatically members of the country club, and community members pay for their golf membership through their HOA fees.

Paying HOA and CDD fees for property upkeep
The neighborhood’s homeowners association oversees much of the community maintenance and exterior upkeep. “When I lived in Cedar Hammock, if I saw a weed, I didn’t feel the need to bend over and pick it up,” Graham says. “You’re paying for the gate guard, the common areas, the clubhouse and mowing the grass. In the multi-family areas, money is set aside for future repairs.” HOA and club fees typically cost about $1,600 per month for property owners in the community, which include the golf course membership and access to the on-site recreational amenities. Cedar Hammock also has a CAP Index crime score of 1, indicating a very low crime risk. The Cedar Hammock Community Development District manages the area’s infrastructure, including sewer and water hookups and roads. Residents pay these fees through their annual property taxes.
Golfing, tennis and more outdoor recreation
In addition to the 18-hole golf course, the grounds have tennis courts, a fitness center with group classes and equipment, and bocce courts. Plus, the beach is a 15-to-20-minute drive away. The Picayune Strand State Forest is among the conservation land a few miles east of the community. Spanning over 74,000 acres, this low-lying land spends part of the year underwater and hosts wildlife and plant species like the Florida panther, wood stork and cypress trees. Park visitors can hike and ride horses through designated sections of the forest.

Just outside the community, residents can run errands at Walmart or grab a bite to eat at chains including Chili’s and Cracker Barrel. Aldi and Publix are also both about 2 miles west. The Physicians Regional Hospital along Collier Boulevard is also about 3 miles south of Cedar Hammock. For happy hour or a sunny Saturday, Downtown Naples has shopping and dining at local boutiques, cafes and high-end restaurants blocks from the beach. “Naples has that Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills kind of look, but it’s not ostentatious,” Graham says. “You can go to the finest restaurant and be wearing jeans.”
