Forest Glen of Naples is a golfing community with an active club life

Forest Glen of Naples is a residential and recreational enclave separated from the city by a golf course and a forest filled with pines and sabal palms. Here, locals tee off on newly renovated greens, dine by the pool and wander through a private preserve. "The prices are very reasonable for a golfing community," says Angelina Turra, a Naples resident and Realtor with Coldwell Banker Real Estate. "And from what I've heard, the community is loved for its golf course. It has a very active club life, which appeals to many people." The 630-acre gated development contains approximately 800 homes along winding roads. The community has a CAP Index Crime score of 1 out of 10, much lower than the national average of 4.

Private homes with golf course and lake views

The Forest Glen Golf & Country Club contains homes with small, green front yards and paved brick driveways. The private neighborhood offers condos, villas, garden homes and single-family houses. "Many [similar] communities are more dense. But Forest Glen's construction is not exaggerated. And the views are terrific," Turra says. Depending on the location, residents may have backyard views of the preserve, the golf course or one of the many lakes. Attached homes typically range from 1,250 square feet to 2,200 square feet; houses can span over 3,000 square feet. Residences usually cost between $325,000 and $760,000.

Southwest Florida has a history of severe weather, including tropical storms and hurricanes. Although the community isn't in a flood zone, it still has a minor risk of flooding.

Collier County's public schools offer clubs and advanced placement

Children can attend public schools about 5 to 10 miles from Forest Glen of Naples. Lely Elementary has a B grade from Niche. Manatee Middle ranks among the best public middle schools in the county. Students can participate in clubs for gardening, debate and noetic math. Lely High offers advanced placement programs and dual enrollment options. The middle and high schools also earn B grades from Niche. Families can apply to an out-of-zone school in Collier County, but must arrange their own transportation.

A renovated golf course and walking trails near FC Naples games

Forest Glen Golf & Country Club's private 18-hole golf course received updates in 2024. The community also provides a full-service clubhouse with a pool and hard-surface courts for pickleball, bocce and tennis. Walking paths curve through the neighborhood's pine-filled preserves. Paradise Coast Sports Complex sits about 3 miles away. The complex is the home base of FC Naples, the region's first professional soccer team. The facility hosts city-wide festivals and athletic tournaments. Locals are also about 10 miles from the Gulf Coast's public beaches.

Neighborhood dining and nearby shopping centers on Collier Boulevard

Residents can dine inside Forest Glen of Naples. There is an outdoor restaurant and bar for poolside meals. The clubhouse dining room serves dinner on weekdays, but is closed on Mondays during the summer. Collier Boulevard, also called County Road 951, contains shopping centers with chain restaurants and local eateries like Magic Masala Naples. A Walmart Supercenter is across Collier Boulevard. Locals are less than 5 miles from Publix locations inside Naples Lakes Village Center and Berkshire Commons. Shoppers are also roughly 10 miles from downtown's vibrant, historic retail district along Fifth Avenue South.

Residents enjoy community-based clubs

Locals can stay inside Forest Glen of Naples for activities and recurring events. The neighborhood book club meets every second Monday, while the Mahjong group plays twice a week. Residents also gather at the clubhouse pool on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for water aerobics classes. A fiber arts group meets to socialize while working on crochet, knitting and quilting projects.

Physicians Regional and Interstate 75 are close by

Bus stops are down Collier Boulevard; however, locals mostly travel by car. The community is about a mile or so from Interstate 75. Physicians Regional Medical Center, located off the boulevard, provides general and emergency care. Southwest Florida International Airport is about 35 miles north.
