Moorings
Suburban Neighborhood in Naples, Florida
Collier County 34103
Waterfront estates and beachfront condos
Moorings is split into two sides, the gulf side and the bay side. Luxury condos with beachfront views line the western half of the neighborhood. However, the area’s Gulf Coast character is displayed in the architectural diversity found on the bay side. New coastal contemporary mansions and Spanish-revivals line the winding canals and come with private swimming pools and boat docks. Farther inland, ranch-style houses from the 1970s sit next to contemporary builds with Mediterranean-influenced designs. One thing that remains constant is the well-manicured front lawns and extensive landscaping. Numerous empty lots are also available for those looking to build their dream home. Prices for a luxury condo begin at $600,000, while inland residences range between $5 million and $10 million. Waterfront estate prices range anywhere between $7 million and $15 million.Private beach access and a members-only golf club
Residents have an abundance of recreation opportunities right in the neighborhood. A private beach membership is optional for those who want to beat the crowds of the public beaches found to the north and south. “The beach is beautifully landscaped and it’s a very nice amenity to have for the neighborhood,” Miller says. “If you live outside of Moorings, you cannot use that beach.” Naples is “the golf capital of the world,” and Moorings provides residents with a distinct advantage. The Moorings Golf & Country Club is a private, member-owned club that offers residents golf and social memberships. While other golf courses have waitlists of up to three years, residents can skip the line and swing away on 18 expertly manicured holes. The course has a weekly couples Twi-night golf event and men's and women's leagues. Nearby, Fleischmann Park has multiple athletic facilities, including lighted baseball diamonds and volleyball courts.Collier County Public Schools are highly rated
Collier County Public Schools serves Moorings’s younger residents and was voted the fifth best school district in the State of Florida by Niche. Lake Park Elementary and Gulfview Middle School both received an A rating on Niche. Students can choose between one of two high schools: Naples High School, which received an A rating from Niche and Lorenzo Walker Technical High School, which received an A-minus on Niche and is an application-based public high school featuring extensive career and college preparation. And for parents looking for a charter school there is Mason Classical Academy, which received an A rating on Niche.Wine for a cause
The Naples Wine Festival occurs across three days, but its effects can be felt year-round. The event features the best wine and food from more than 20 of the world’s preeminent wineries. Attendees can bid on cars, bottles of wine or nights away in places as far as Paris. Proceeds from the festival go straight to the Naples Children & Education Foundation, and over $302 million has been raised since the first festival in 2001.Travel throughout Florida by land or sea
Whether residents stay on land or test their sea legs, they have easy access to Naples’ numerous attractions. Boaters can head to the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico via Doctors Pass. Old Naples is under 4 miles away and features historic shopping centers and upscale dining. Naples Municipal Airport is 6 miles away and services business class flights, while commercial airlines can be found at Southwest Florida International Airport 32 miles away. Collier Area Transit has multiple bus stops along Route 41.Multiple shopping centers nearby
Easy access to retail and dining is provided by Route 41, and Moorings is near numerous shopping centers. Naples Plaza sits within the neighborhood and includes a Publix for weekly groceries and produce. Visitors can head to the PGA superstore to outfit themselves for all their golfing needs. Across the street, the Coastland Center is a large shopping mall with multiple retail chains and a movie theater. Swan River is a local favorite, serving fresh catches straight from the Gulf, while early birds head to Blueberry’s to get their day started with a sweet or savory breakfast. Naples’s famous shopping districts on Fifth Avenue and Third Street South are just a short drive away. Moorings Presbyterian Church serves the area.
