"After Hurricane Ian in 2022, many of the houses were flooded in similarly priced communities like Park Shore, but I don't think any single-family houses in Pelican Bay ended up under water," Lefevre says.Highly rated public schools
Local children can attend Sea Gate Elementary, which has a 13-to-1 student-teacher ratio. Pine Ridge Middle School students are 74% proficient in math and 70% proficient in reading. There is also a playground and a walking trail system. Many residents spend their days sunning or swimming at Vanderbilt Beach. People drive 5 ½ miles northeast to hit the fairways at Stonebridge Country Club. The Bay Colony Beach Club offers a 27-hole golf course called Club Pelican Bay. All Bay Colony residents receive memberships in the Bay Colony Tennis Club. "Pelican Bay is a huge tennis community. It's one of the best places to live if you're into racquet sports," Lefevre says. Both casual and luxury shopping and dining
The Bay Colony Golf Club's restaurant attracts patrons for its fresh fish and expertly curated fine wine selection. Angelo's Southern Grill is known locally for its omelets, steaks and chicken pot pies. Patrons of Namba Ramen & Sushi enjoy vegetarian dishes and colorful seafood plates. Locals buy their own cooking ingredients at the Publix on the northeast corner of the community. Residents do most of their shopping at the Waterside Shops on the southeast corner of the community. The mall includes stores like Ralph Lauren, Pottery Barn, Barnes & Noble, Saks Fifth Avenue and Louis Vuitton.Entertainment and cultural activities
Off the Hook Comedy Club, about 3 miles east, hosts popular comedians like Kevin Farley and Donnell Rawlings. A movie theater on the northeastern border of the community plays new film releases. Locals drive 1 ½ miles south to watch the Naples Philharmonic perform at the Kimberly K. Querry and Louis A. Simpson Cultural Campus. The campus also includes the Baker Museum, which has a wide selection of American modernist art and Mexican 20th-century works.Getting from place-to-place in Naples
U.S. Route 41 borders the eastern edge of Pelican Bay. Residents travel 30 miles north via Route 41 to visit Fort Myers, home to Southwest Florida International Airport. Residents can catch the public bus along the highway to explore the rest of Naples and Collier County. The broader Naples community has 30 miles of bicycle pathways and cycle-friendly roadways. Residents travel 10 miles southeast if they need to take charter flights out of Naples Airport. Many residents travel to the beach using the tram system. Many of the streets are lined with sidewalks.
