A small neighborhood in growing and eclectic East Nashville
Iverson is a small Nashville neighborhood where residents will find classically designed homes and new builds all within minutes of one of Music City’s vibrant dining and entertainment scenes. Centered around Iverson Avenue, the neighborhood belongs to East Nashville, a growing community known for its many eateries, trendy watering holes and indie music venues. Establishments here range from an old-school record store to sake and whiskey bars and cozy hangouts where patrons spend their late nights jamming out to small-time bands. “It offers great access to everything East Nashville has to offer, and there's a lot of fun stuff in East Nashville. It's really spread all over the place. It’s not really concentrated, and Iverson has good access to all that,” says Scott Troxel, a Realtor with Keller Williams Music City, who’s made several sales in the East Nashville area.
A mix of classic and contemporary styles
A railroad splits Iverson into two sections, with one side primarily consisting of residential housing options and the other serving as a campus for government entities like the headquarters of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Many Iverson homes sit on lots no larger than a quarter-of-an-acre and styles include Cape Cods, Craftsmen, English Tudor cottages and contemporary designs — which many refer to as “tall and skinnies” due to their narrow shape and tendency to be a few stories tall. “Although new builds have a more modern appearance, they mix in tastefully and fit well on the streets,” says Mark Kiker, a Realtor with American Heritage Realty, who has lived in the area for over two decades. The smaller cottages here can cost between $350,000 and $450,000, while many larger contemporary builds run between $500,000 and nearly $1 million.
Both old and new Cape Cod style homes with dormer windows are noticeable in Iverson.
