Lincoln Square’s namesake is Lincoln Center, a complex of resident arts organizations that include The Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Film at Lincoln Center. In addition to ticketed premiere music, theater and dance performances, the center hosts a robust calendar of free programming year round. The Shops at Columbus Circle are a destination for high-end shopping and fine dining, and the top-ranked Tatiana is in Lincoln Center. Ornate townhouses, pre-war co-ops and luxury towers
The architecture in this pocket of the city is a blend of 18th- and 19th- century townhouses, fabulously opulent brick and beaux-arts-style mid-rise condominiums and co-ops and full-service modern residential towers. The West 67th Street Artists’ Colony Historic District is a block of residential buildings developed at the turn of the 19th century for creatives. Pre-war co-ops are typically listed for between $500,000 and $2 million; condo prices range between $1 and $5 million, and ultra luxury residences such as the Tower at 50 W. 66th have asking prices in the tens of millions of dollars. As a general rule, prices decline at the far west side of the neighborhood.

Sprawling green space on either side
The east side of Lincoln Square borders Central Park, making notable features of the green space such as the Central Park Carousel, Sheep Meadow, playgrounds and Wollman Rink a short walk away.
