New homes and highly rated schools come together in Reunion

Reunion is a growing housing community between Newark and Rhome on the northwest edge of the Dallas- Fort Worth Metroplex. Outdoor spaces emphasize the natural surroundings, with a trail network and other amenities centered on a 20-acre lake. Families are close to highly rated schools, including one that’s within walking distance of many homes, and parks and playgrounds keep the kids busy on afternoons and weekends. With convenient access to the expanding job opportunities along the AllianceTexas commercial corridor, Reunion appeals to a broad range of homebuyers.

What buyers should know about homes and HOA fees in Reunion

New Traditional homes from builders like D.R. Horton, American Legend, K. Hovnanian and UnionMain define the architectural landscape. Most were built in the 2020s, and construction is still ongoing. Brick and stone facades, gabled roof accents and attached two-car garages are common features. Interior details include open floor plans, quartz countertops and smart home technology. Sale prices generally range from the lower $300,000s to the lower $600,000s, depending on the home’s size and builder. The community also charges annual HOA fees totaling around $1,080 to help fund grounds maintenance and upkeep of amenities like the pool and other gathering spaces. The HOA also enforces a few restrictions: Homeowners are expected to keep outdoor spaces well-maintained and obtain prior approval for any exterior modifications.

Gathering spaces and outdoor recreation are close to home

Shared amenities are at the heart of the community. Residents enjoy access to:

  • Lake Eloise, a man-made 20-acre lake
  • A pool and pavilion
  • An event lawn
  • Walking trails
  • An amphitheater
Planned additions include nature-inspired playscapes and expanded trails for walking, running or biking. Outdoor enthusiasts can also make the 15-mile drive to Eagle Mountain Park. The nature preserve measures roughly 400 acres, with miles of scenic hiking trails and views of Eagle Mountain Lake.

Students are zoned for the Northwest Independent Schools District

Reunion is part of the highly rated Northwest Independent School District, which receives an A-minus from Niche. Students can attend Chisholm Trail Middle School, situated on the edge of the community within walking distance of many homes. Northwest High School is the home of the district's Academy of STEM and Creative Media Production, as well as an active FFA program.

Where to find restaurants and groceries around Reunion

With equal access to Rhome and Newark, you’ll have plenty of dining options. These spots are within a short drive:

  • EspressoSelf Coffee, a retro-style coffee shop with handcrafted espresso drinks, teas and cold brew creations
  • LocalCraft BBQ, serving slow-smoked brisket, ribs, turkey and pork belly
  • The Best Pupusas in Texas, a casual Salvadoran restaurant that’s open for breakfast and lunch
  • 5WTX Field Kitchen, known for its hearty rib-eye steak sandwiches and smash burgers with house-made chips
  • Ol’Kowskis Brew House, a coffee shop that also serves beer and wine with live music and karaoke nights
Newark also has a few convenience stores and gas stations where you can grab everyday items. For bigger grocery trips, Walmart Supercenter and Kroger are a short drive away along U.S. Highway 287.

Commuting to nearby job centers is easiest by car

Although the expanding trail network invites walking and biking within the community, you’ll probably need a car for commuting and errands. Seven Hills Road connects to Newark and Rhome, where you can hop on State Highway 114 for the 15-mile drive to the AllianceTexas corridor. There, you’ll find Fort Worth Alliance Airport, which serves as a major hub for Amazon Air operations. Other job opportunities are available in Fort Worth, about 25 miles away, and at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, roughly 30 miles away. “That place is growing big time,” says Amanda Smith, a Realtor with Trinity Group Realty who has over three years of experience selling in the area. “You’re not too far from amenities, but you’ve still got a country feel.”

How Reunion compares to housing developments in nearby cities

There’s no shortage of housing developments in this rapidly growing area. If you can’t find the right home in Reunion, you might consider expanding your search to nearby areas. In Haslet, the Wellington subdivision features lakes, trails and parks within the Northwest ISD, but it has a more traditional suburban vibe and sits closer to Alliance and Fort Worth employment centers. Timberbrook, a master-planned community in Justin, also offers convenient access to the Alliance corridor, plus amenities that include an onsite elementary school. However, the atmosphere there is more active than in Reunion, which places greater emphasis on natural spaces. Finally, Rhome’s Fairview Meadows offers an intimate neighborhood feel when compared to Reunion’s larger footprint and sprawling trail system.
