Suburban living close to Newport News' main office area
Oyster Point forms what many refer to as the new downtown of Newport News. It’s loaded with retail and restaurant amenities, to begin with. But it’s also part of a new economic engine for the city, with many employers relocating their offices to a walkable hub nearby that’s appropriately dubbed City Center. Realtors like David Tortolini with eXp Realty call this hub an industrial park of sorts, and so if someone is considering Oyster Point, they might be incentivized by the mix of work-live-play culture. “This is the main office area for Newport News. If you’re not in military or in the shipyard, you might end up working here.”
Peaceful Oyster Point homes in a leafy neighborhood
Residential streets are interwoven with main thoroughfares and shopping centers, but it never feels too bustling on the home front. A quiet atmosphere hovers around streets with names like Dominion Drive. Tall oak trees and long carpets of grass frame classic styles like brick ranches, Colonials and split-level homes. Home prices range from the mid $400,000s to the mid $600,000s. A four-bedroom Modern Traditional home, built in 1995, can sell at $460,000 here. Five-bedroom brick Colonials represent the upper end of the market.
