A bounty of choices in Bayfront
Bayfront is a charming waterfront community in Newport with beautiful views of the Yaquina Bay, plentiful restaurants and diverse homes. "It's a very vibrant, busy area," says Heidi Rogers, an Oregon Coast native and Principal Broker with Sotheby's International Realty who has sold homes in the Newport area. "It's easy to get down to the bayfront, see the shops and restaurants or walk to beach." While strolling along the docks, residents can sometimes spot sea lions basking in the sun and according to Rogers, the weather is "great because it’s inland as opposed to right on the shore. There's more sun, less fog and less wind." With so much to do and beautiful weather to do it in, Bayfront combines everything there is to love about waterfront living.

Diverse home designs
Homes in Bayfront are very diverse. "You’ve got everything from tiny little cottages that have been there since the 1900s to really fancy, modern homes,” says Audra Powell, a Principal Broker/ CRS for Advantage Real Estate who has sold numerous homes around the Newport region. Condos, Craftsmans and ranch-styles are among the most popular styles. Condos typically sell for $235,000 to $500,000 while single-family homes run for about $400,000 to $725,000 each. According to Powell, the housing market for Bayport is in great shape. “It’s one of the hottest housing markets on the coast. You’ve got a little more going in Newport than in the smaller areas, so houses tend to sell quickly, and the average sale price is 95-97% of list price,” she says.
