About halfway down the Oregon coast, Lost Creek's oceanside proximity and focus on residential living creates a tranquil community with neighbors and nature at the forefront and noise nowhere to be found. Audra Powell, a Principal Broker/ CRS with Advantage Real Estate, has sold several homes in the Newport region and says, "Lost Creek provides a lot of privacy and has a tucked-in coastal feel without putting you too close to your neighbor,” she says. “It’s also located close to Newport so it’s convenient to Newport’s amenities. It's got a kind of coastal feel where you feel remote with a really nice beach access across the highway.”
Ranch-styles, septic systems and underground power
Single-story ranch-style homes are popular in Lost Creek, which typically range between $350,000 and $750,000. Manufactured homes are also available and fetch between $300,000 and $530,000. According to Powell, it has “a mix of large parcels, which are bigger than the typical 50 x 100 lots found in town. The houses are on septic systems, and they have underground power, which is pretty uncommon. When you’re out of town with septic, you have a larger, more private setting, and usually over half an acre. Homes here tend to sell pretty quickly.” In fact, properties in Lost Creek typically remain on the market for about three days, which is a significantly faster rate compared to the national average of 42 days. Average home values have been on a steady incline and since 2024, they have roamed around the $530,000 range.
