Located to the northeast of Norfolk, Brandon Place is a smaller, sun-basked neighborhood with grid-style roads and outstanding access to the surrounding area. "It's got very good road access. You've got Chesapeake Boulevard right there, you've got Norview Avenue access and you've got the airport not too far away," says Realtor Tom Thrasher of Greenbrier Real Estate & Appraisals Inc. "From a transportation point of view, it's excellent." From convenient commuting to its proximity to the city, Brandon Place is an intriguing neighborhood for buyers in the market for a home near the coast.

Pick-up sports, fishing spots and playground trips
Brandon Place doesn't contain much green space, but to the west of the neighborhood off Willow Wood Drive is the tree-shaded Lakewood Park. Invite friends for a game of pickup football or work on your backhand on the tennis court. The park also features a dock for locals to fish along Wayne Creek, which contains striped bass, carp and croakers. To the south near Sherwood Forest Elementary is also North Foxhall Playground. Bring the kids to the park's baseball field for batting practice or get moving on the community pickleball court.
Groceries and global flavors
To fill the pantry, head just east of the area and pick up fresh produce and meats from the local Food Lion off Norview Avenue. There's also a Family Dollar toward the neighborhood's northside stationed on the corner of Norview and Chesapeake. Several standout local eateries can be found here, too. Head to Cal'z Pizza off Sewells Point Road for one of the restaurant's New York-style pies. Cal'z also offers calzones and hoagies, including the beefy "Cal'z Classic." Just off Chesapeake, Yendidi — named after an Akan word meaning “Let's Eat” — features foods from Ghana and other countries in West Africa, including waakye, kelewele and a beef and oxtail stew. Brandon Place is only a short, 4-mile drive from Norfolk Premium Outlets, where you'll find restaurants, boutiques and retail shops, as well as a playground and a dog-friendly walking path around Lake Wright.
The nearest bus stop and airport
Hampton Roads Transit bus route 3 cuts through the neighborhood's northwestern corner at the intersection of Norview and Chesapeake. The bus runs every 30 minutes during peak hours. Residents are also a short 2-mile drive from Norfolk International Airport.
