The community is located in the center of Norfolk and offers quick access to the city’s amenities. “You can go one way and get to the beach and go another way to get to the city,” says D'Alfred Shaw, a Realtor for Swell Real Estate Co, who’s been selling homes in the area for five years.

Close to I-64, bus stops and the airport
Coronado is somewhat bikeable, but a car might still be necessary to get around the rest of the surrounding area. Interstate 64 is just north of the neighborhood and provides quick access to Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Downtown Norfolk is 5 miles south, about 30 minutes by car, and Naval Station Norfolk is just 3 miles west, or around 10 minutes driving on I-64. Norfolk International Airport, the largest in Hampton Roads, is 2 miles east. Because of Coronado’s proximity to the interstate and the airport, there may be some additional ambient noise. There are also several bus stops with daily service along Chesapeake Boulevard.
