Mix of older and newer working-class homes
Established trees provide a natural screen between the busy corner and the residential side streets fanning from it. Wide streets with sidewalks are lined with evenly spaced minimal-traditional style homes. The small, square homes feature low-pitched roofs and front stoops, often covered with a projecting gable or aluminum awning. Many of the older homes in Norview Heights have been updated over the years with “pop-up” or “nose” additions, giving the originally modest floorplans some extra square footage with a new second story or expanded front living space. Instead of bothering to add onto their existing home, some residents have simply demolished the old structures and rebuilt their homes from scratch. You’ll see these larger new constructions scattered throughout the neighborhood. Though bigger than the original Norview Heights homes, the new builds maintain the aesthetic of the community with their gable roofs and neutral, yet beachy color palettes. Homes here tend to stay on the market for about three weeks and typically sell for between $150,000 to $300,000.
Most of the developments in Norview Heights have well-maintained sidewalks.
