Quiet north Decatur neighborhood in prime location
Leafmore-Creek Park Hill is a quiet suburban neighborhood in north Decatur that dates back to the 1950s. That’s when Rob Holley’s parents bought their home to raise their family. “It was a middle-class, fun neighborhood with great public schools,” he says. Holley, who still lives in the neighborhood and raised his own children there, is now the president of its civic association. Though there has been a lot of development around the neighborhood over the years, it has remained a coveted place to live. “It’s just a prime area and, frankly, it’s just gotten better with time,” Holley says.
Leafmore-Creek Park Hill is about 10 miles Northeast of Downtown Atlanta.

Along the edges of the neighborhood, inside gated communities, are some new construction luxury townhomes, generally selling at similar price points to the rest of the area.

School choice within Dekalb County district
The Dekalb County district serves the area. Young children head to Oak Grove Elementary, which has an A-minus on Niche. Then they head to Henderson Middle School, rated B-minus, before finishing their education at Lakeside High School, which earns a B-plus. The Dekalb district has a school choice option that allows parents to apply to send their children to other schools in the district through a lottery process. Options include schools with Montessori or dual language immersion programs at the elementary level and high schools with early college programs. Holley says parents in the neighborhood are also increasingly choosing to send their children to any of the growing private schools in the area, which include both religious and secular institutions.
Oak Grove Elementary serves approximately 425 students.
Henderson Middle School has a student to teacher ratio of about 14:1.
