North Druid Woods has a classic Atlanta suburb feel. Woodsy patches of trees line good-sized backyards, and winding roads connect to neighborhood green spaces. Clyde Nature Preserve draws residents
One of North Druid Woods and the city of Decatur's largest draws is the amount of parks and preserves in and around the neighborhood. The Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve offers nearly 30 acres of land with numerous miles of trails. "The park is very popular for hiking and biking. It's a huge draw for the neighborhood," St. George says about the preserve. The trails overlook a large pond and are excellent for wildlife viewing as the area is rich with birds and small animals, like the beaver colony that calls the pond home. Shamrock Forest is another woodsy preserve, though its trails are not as well maintained. Gardeners may join the North Dekalb Mall Community Garden or the Medlock Park Community Garden. Medlock Park also has a playground, a pool, a walking trail and several ball fields and batting cages used by Druid Hills Youth Sports. Several other options around the neighborhood include Frazier Rowe Park, a woodsy, pet-friendly nature area, and a modest community space with a small play area, garden and a Little Free Library.
The South Peachtree Creek trail at Medlock Park in North Decatur, is ideal dog walking spot.

Shopping and dining along North Druid Hills Road
