While it’s where Cold Spring Lane and Beach Street intersect, it doesn’t often go by that name. “Cold Spring was probably a little village at some point. “There are a lot of tiny houses,” Kimball says. “Some of those should probably be torn down. Some of them have been upgraded because they're right on the water.” There are also larger homes in Greek Revival and Colonial styles. Cleaning up Narragansett Bay
The North Kingstown Town Beach is a small beach on Narragansett Bay with easy access to public parking. It is open for swimming, but more popular for boating. “The bay's gotten much cleaner, but prior to 1980 or so, you wouldn't swim in the bay ever because all the filth that was coming down from Providence was just dumped into the bay,” Kimball says. “They've done a good job of cleaning everything up, but, typically, nobody swims in the bay.”
