Cold Spring Beach is quiet and residential
Bordered by the Wickford Shipyard to the west, Cold Spring Beach is a small, primarily residential, section of North Kingstown. While it’s where Cold Spring Lane and Beach Street intersect, it doesn’t often go by that name. “Cold Spring was probably a little village at some point. It might have had like a little general store or a post office or something like that way back in the day, but then as things got added in or moved around you, nobody calls it that anymore," says Toby Kimball, a Realtor with Residential Properties LTD who grew up in South Kingstown. “It's just all North Kingstown.” This quiet waterfront neighborhood is close to shopping and dining in Wickford and minutes from North Kingstown's town beach.

Cleaning up Narragansett Bay
The North Kingstown Town Beach is a small beach on Narragansett Bay with easy access to public parking. It is open for swimming, but more popular for boating. “The bay's gotten much cleaner, but prior to 1980 or so, you wouldn't swim in the bay ever because all the filth that was coming down from Providence was just dumped into the bay,” Kimball says. “They've done a good job of cleaning everything up, but, typically, nobody swims in the bay.”
