Small-town ambiance along the Gulf Coast
Along Florida's Gulf Coast, North Redington residents enjoy a waterfront peninsula with small-town ambiance. Unlike busier destinations, North Redington is tucked offshore in turquoise waters, offering elegant homes on cul-de-sacs. Here, palms sway on the boulevard, open shores are trimmed in wild sea oats, and bicyclists and runners roam at a carefree pace. And because properties feature private docks, residents set sail from their own backyards. Broad patios and balconies are plentiful here for watching pelicans dive and sunsets paint the horizon. Tanya Baird-Repka, Broker/Realtor with the family-owned Baird Realty Group, who has lived and sold real estate in North Redington for more than 25 years, says, "North Redington is a special place. Not only because it's where Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe chose to holiday, but because it has all the best qualities of a beach community. It's only a block deep, so you get true waterfront living. And it feels like a small town, but with all the conveniences of a destination. We have a couple hotels, but we're not overrun with tourists. In fact, a lot of snowbirds decide to make this their home, because it's just such a caring town. Our mayor works out twice a day at the gym and makes rounds at the pickleball courts, so he's always checking in with everyone. He's the first one to drive up and down the streets before a storm to be sure everyone is okay. I grew up in St. Pete's, so our family knows all the beaches — but we all like North Redington."

Upscale housing
Home stock is a blend of upscale condominiums priced between $380,000 and $700,000 and custom single-family homes that are painted in seaside hues or topped with Spanish clay tiles. Porches and mailboxes carry beach-theme decorations, and garages and driveways are designed with high-end pavers and glossy woods. Multi-story modern versions of Spanish colonials line up next to unfussy sand-colored ranch styles. Chic geometric designs add to the mix. Single-family homes are generally priced between $1 million and $2 million.

Neighborhood parks with beach access
At the south end of North Redington, adds Baird-Repka, "We have our own little parks, and you even get a parking permit for our own private beach access. So, if you want to bring grandma and you don't want to have to walk over with a wagon, you can just park and go to the pavilion and watch the sunset." Friendship Park's pathway is edged with vintage-style lamp posts and steps lead down to the water. Across Gulf Boulevard, residents stroll a mile of smooth sands past vacation condos and a few hotels.
Popular eateries
For breakfast out, the community hot spot is Frog Pond. Says Baird-Repka, "Frog Pond always has a line out the door, especially on weekends. People love their six-egg omelets." Burrito Social is popular for lunch and dinner and features an indoor/outdoor setting lit with aqua glass chandeliers. Pastel Adirondacks gather around the sail-covered patio at Conch Republic, and its dining room brims with pirate flags and trophy fish. For casual bar fun, residents head to Sporty's for billiards, darts and karaoke. A low-key collection of retailers, services and eateries gather in North Redington Beach Plaza, and groceries are convenient at the Publix in Madeira Shopping Center.
