Just 13 miles from New York City and 7 miles from Newark, Nutley doesn’t feel like a commuter town. With an active event calendar and plenty of local restaurants to choose from nestled in the heart of town, Nutley has its own identity while keeping the option of commuting to NYC open. “Nutley has some of the best pizza on the Northern Seaboard,” De Fede says. “We probably have more pizza than Italy has.” Luna Wood Fire Tavern, one of Nutley’s pizza places, specializes in wood-fired pizzas but also offers plenty of other Italian favorites, like fusilli arrabbiata and rigatoni Bolognese. When not in the mood for pizza, residents can stop in Gabriella’s Place for Middle Eastern cuisine, featuring Turkish coffee and Kunafa. The Nutley Bagel Boy lives up to its name with bagels in every flavor, including pumpernickel, chocolate chip and French toast. For groceries, Target is just 1.6 miles from Nutley’s town center, along Kingsland Road. River Front Center, 2 miles away, boasts a Costco. Nutley's Sunday farmers markets with walking tours

From June through October, Nutley’s Sunday market features everything from locally-grown produce and baked goods to flower and homemade cheeses.
