Oakland Tech serves about 1,900 students and has a student-teacher ratio of 19-to-1. In nearby Rockridge, the bustling College Avenue offers simple, traditional Italian cooking at Belotti Ristorante e Bottega, Mediterranean-style small plates and season cocktails at A Cote, and shopping at vintage clothing boutiques, indie bookstores, ceramics and jewelry stores. For groceries, there's Whole Foods off Telegraph Avenue, and the Rockridge Market Hall in nearby Rockridge. Rockridge Market Hall has eight local shops under one roof, selling everything from wine and cheese to locally sourced meats and fish.
