First settled in 1824, Odenville’s agricultural roots are reflected today in the form of lush, green fields with a smattering of trees. Some of these fields are dedicated farmland, but a house built on large acreage might also be on the market. While beautiful, these large stretches of fields mean residents need a car to get around. As City Clerk Katie Roberson puts it, Odenville is “rural, but growing at a fast pace with subdivisions.”

From large lots to new construction
Homes in the area are a mix of traditional-style options and new construction. There are ranch-style and Colonial homes with front or wraparound porches and dormer windows on a large lot, set further away from the road. New construction homes are clustered closer together, usually in subdivisions, with less yard space. These homes tend to be variations of the New Traditional style, like Craftsman or Colonial Revival, and share similar features like large front gable roofs and built-in garages. While pricing can vary based on the square footage of the living space and lot acreage, closing sale prices might range from $160,000 to over $700,000.
Odneville homes have wide streets and flat front yards.

More shopping and dining after a drive
The Piggly Wiggly and Family Dollar in the area have grocery needs covered. Every May, Magnolia Farm has a farmer’s market, or “farm days,” where artists and farmers can share their products. For vendors, anything made, raised, or grown and harvested is welcome. Residents will have to invest in some driving time to reach other stores, like the Walmart Supercenter in Springville roughly 15 minutes away, or the Publix Super Market at The Village at Moody about 20 minutes away. There are also familiar chain restaurants like Zaxby’s or Cracker Barrel near these stores, too. For more local flavor, Charlie’s BBQ is a mom-and-pop store that serves hearty portions and homemade sauce. The combo barbecue plate is a local favorite and brisket is offered every Wednesday and Saturday.
