These homes have sold for between $140,000 and $270,000. “Fleetwood is popular for investors,” says Thomas McDonald, a Realtor with Starz Realty. “These are starter homes with 1,200 to 1,700 square feet.” Sidewalks line the streets, giving residents room for a stroll through the neighborhood.

Students assigned to the Ector County Independent School District
Students in Fleetwood are assigned to attend schools within the Ector County Independent School District. Starting in pre-kindergarten, children attend Ireland Elementary, which is in the neighborhood and earns a C-plus mark from Niche. In sixth grade, students attend C-graded Wilson & Young Medal of Honor Middle School before moving on to C-plus-graded Permian High School. Permian High is known for its football program, which was the subject of the book and film Friday Night Lights. As for private school options, Sherwood Christian Academy is just north of Fleetwood and serves kindergarten through 12th grade. Niche has not yet graded the school.

Fleetwood is next door neighbors with Sherwood Park, which has an aquatic center for the summer with a pool, slides, a diving board and water playscapes. Sherwood Park has several athletic fields and courts for beach volleyball, tennis, baseball, softball and soccer. It also has a skate park and a playground. Less than 1 mile south of the neighborhood is Optimist Park, which has a playground for children, a baseball backstop and two tennis courts. Memorial Garden Park is 2 miles west of Fleetwood and offers a 0.6 walking path around a pond.

Annual events at the Ector County Coliseum
Two miles west of Fleetwood is the Ector County Coliseum, home to various Odessa events. The coliseum hosts the annual Permian Basin Fair & Expo each Labor Day weekend. The event has live music, a petting zoo, rides and food vendors. It also has entertainment like a Dog Extravaganza and foot-eating contests.
